Cassy the Cyclist

Cassy got a new road bike for her birthday last March and she's been tearing up the pavement ever since.  We did a hilly 40-mile ride in April and a 50-mile ride in May to get acquainted with the bike.  While I was gone over the summer, she rode in a 62-mile ride and then topped it off with a FAST 100-mile ride in August.  The ride is called the Hotter 'n Hell Hundred and it takes place at the hottest time of the year in Wichita Falls.  13,000 riders crowd the start line and ride anywhere from 5 miles to 100.  Cassy refused to do anything less than the 100-mile ride and she smoked it with an overall time of 7 hours 20 minutes and a riding time of 6 hours and 17 minutes.  The photos below are of the 50-mile ride.  Hotter 'n Hell photos coming soon.

The Byers Bike Bash--one of our warmup rides.

Helen puts down miles like it's her job.
